I love my Kindle. It is as good as advertised and in some instances better than expected. I have been using mine for approximately three months and I wonder how I ever lived without it. I suddenly want to read all books on Kindle because of the ease with which this device works. Because I am able to adjust the print size to my own comfort level, I find I can read books much faster. I love being able to shop for books anywhere, anytime and have the book delivered in less than 60 seconds. The device is incredibly user friendly, and if you do have problems, the technical support team at Amazon.com is outstanding. I would highly recommend this electronic reader.

Thank you very much for your posts Mr. Frey. I am a Masters of Architecture student looking at developing a more flexible model for the library/community center in Zimbabwe. Do you have any thoughts on libraries in developing nations, funding and the digital divide?
Many thanks

Much of my thinking around the "library of the future" is now focused on the role and purpose of a library without books as we know them today. It's clear to me that vast majority of the ink-on-paper form of books will soon be replaced with a digital version that is easily downloadable.

Books are currently the primary labor component in a library. Loaning out electronic book readers will soon become commonplace in most libraries and the digital form of books will greatly reduce the need for staffing. However, other activities are likely to replace the space and labor issues associated with a book-based library, and I'm working on those concepts now.

Libraries will not go away. Instead, they will become a vital center of community activity still oriented around the access of information.

I hope this helps,

Tom
