Dear Thomas Frey,

You wrote about the half-implemented metric system. You might be interested in this article: http://www.metricationmatters.com/docs/CostOfNonMetrication.pdf

Cheers,

P.S. Your reference to the 'half-implemented metric system' probably understates the real position. Try not using the metric system at all; you could use this article to get you started: http://www.metricationmatters.com/docs/DontUseMetric.pdf

Maybe the Romans had the numeral system maintained to restrain growth, invention and innovation.Latin was used and died, except for what other languages used for beginnings and endings etymology. Math seems to be the magical key to understanding why goldfish have a 3 second memory and strings vibrate butterfly wings causing global destruction from thousands of miles away and the sun reverses its magnetic poles and causes sunspots disabling our satellites. Scientific discovery is the why and math seems to be the how. The Greeks also taxed the citizens to death, opened endless wars and entertained the people with "circuses and bread"-free grain, and in our case TV. It kept people happy while the government went on with no controls. Could we be on that path by not making education free and teaching free thinking skills? you decide
