Quoted from the ninth paragraph: "the process will become seamless and invisible to the end user." I find this enormously depressing. We need to know at all times where ALL our food comes from, and particularly how, where and whether it is fixed. But thanks for drawing our attention.

I was prompted to write the future of ag article by a request from Morning Calm Magazine, the in-flight magazine for Korean Airlines. Being a farm boy from way back, its been a topic near and dear to me, but it had always been on the back burner. Several other articles brewing as well. Thanks for the feedback.

Tom,

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this post. Especially the section on silo farming.

Just purchased my own self-watering hydroponic planters for improved food quality for my family and have partnered with an inventor of an ingenious new product coming out for no fuss self-watering pots for indoor herbs and vegetables. This is a hot topic. Thank you for exploring it.

A few years ago my husband and I visited the Biosphere 2 in Oracle, Arizona, a 3.15-acre structure originally built to be a man-made, materially-closed ecological system. We found it fascinating beyond belief.

We are having some Network Solutions technical problems with our web site this week and it may be down if you try now. They have assured us they are troubleshooting as quickly as possible.

Good work.
