We are coming full circle, we are all only random access memory to the grand design computer. Next we will realise that we have the required equipment and that it already runs on electricity in our bodies, when did we loose the ability to communicate the information wirelessly (telepathy) and when will we get it back???/

Dan, I referenced your work in a recent talk I gave to a Credit Union association in Chicago a couple weeks ago when I gave a talk on the Future of Money, an area where I thing you're making brilliant strides. Thanks for pushing everyone's thinking in this area.

I've asked my assistant to contact you and set up a time to talk.

Tom; Wow, I just found this - thanks for the plug. I am working on a concept called WIKiD Tools. WIKiD stands for wisdon, innovation, knowledge, information and data. The idea is that value is created when one element is transformed into another. Specifically, the transformation of data into information creates value. The transformation of information into knowledge creates value, etc. Then I see this article about terabyters and it's brilliant - indeed value is created in the transformation of date into information. Guess what, Google is an information company. The next great breakthrough will be in the transformation of information into knowledge - that is the domain of social media but the integration is not yet complete...so we are designing a system for that too. The transformation from knowledge to innovation is yet another huge leap.....you get the point.

great article. Let's talk sometime soon.

I love your idea of documenting jobs. Coming from a farm in South Dakota, I had no idea what kind of work an engineer did. Everyone was telling me I should go to engineering school, but I had no clue what I was getting myself into.

Tom, interesting thoughts. Given the spin provided by the media and interviewers the truth is geting harder to find especially from restricted or remote sites (Iran elections last year, North Korea, etc.). I could see common folks (many of them for corroboration) being the ultimate 'newsterrabyters', by recording actual events. Of course we see some of this already using cell phones to document events now. How about documenting jobs real-time then any person within a period of several hours would be able to really understand a given profession before committing to years of study - now there's a time and money saver!

Interesting theory. Terabyters--and everyone dealing with information as a currency--will need data management skills par excellance. It will also be interesting to see what information is deemed to have value when individuals are creating so much of it. Will there be a recognized value system, or will we be looking for teardrops in the ocean?
